With the World at its lowest in terms of moral due to inequality, global poverty rates at some all-times highest and massacres taking place across the globe especially in Sudan, Palestine, Kashmir and Jimmuh as well as Rohingya: It was expected of the one organization that was formed to prevent conflict and manage them where they arise to rise to
the occasion. Yet, the United Nations and her agencies continue to issue condemning statements with little to no action.
Despite the end of slavery and colonization; Africa has been at the foot of the global food chain, yet rich in resources. Every conflict in Africa has been proven to be initiatives on non-indigenes who seek to maintain conflicts In order to continue looting resources. With protection from the USA by virtue of her Veto powers in the United Nations General and Security Councils, Morocco continues to be shielded as the last colonizer in Africa as they continue to occupy Western Sahara.
As such, the Youth of Africa, led by the World Federation of Democratic Youth; we call for the relocation of United Nations offices from the Northern Hemisphere to the global South, starting with United Nations Education, Science, Culture (UNESCO) offices to be relocate to Havana in Cuba. It is impossible for UNESCO to fully deliver on its obligations that includes and not limited to uphold cultural heritage while based in France, a chief colonizer and cleanser of its colonial subjects cultural heritages. France remains a custodian of culture in almost all her former colonies in West Africa whom she fully controls by means of controlling
their central banks. There shall be guarantees of no interference from interested parties.
By relocating the UNESCO offices to Cuba, it will be a great tribute to the people of Cuba for their resilience and the global south at large. Cuba deserves to be put at the centre of global cultural, scientific and educational custodianship. By doing so, we shall further endorse Cuba as the symbol of resilience against not only the commodification of education but cultural and scientific erosion and cleansing by the imperial agencies who seek to further enrich the super wealthy.
We call on all progressives; workers, students, professionals and all the masses to join this noble campaign of directly shifting powers from the historically powerful yet abusive thereof. The global North was at the centre of the wars and unrests that led to creation of the United Nations, they continue to lead the pack that violates all the regulations and expectations of the organization. Yet, the global south not only remains the recipients of the negative outcomes of the western misdemeanours; global warming, global financial crisis due to wars and greed, endless wars for pillaging of resources.
The struggle for a just world free from wars, oppression and imperialism and a just world where available resources be used for the benefit of all and not the few is possible; and we shall witness it in our lifetimes!!!
