PoliTeknik
Dear Sir or Madam,
On account of Universal Declaration of Human Right’s 70th Anniversary, we, the Global Collective formed by academics, social workers, teachers’ unions, students’ associations & civil society organizations, coordinated by PoliTeknik Magazine (Germany), have initiated a reflection process for a kind proposition of extension of UDHR’s Article-26 which concerns Right to Education.
We are aware that the world has experienced substantial changes and challenges since UDHR’s adoption in 1948, faced by states, communities, civil society organizations and as individuals, threatening in new ways especially to offer public, free and qualified educational opportunities to all.
Regarding the concern above, our project is advocating for a modification of Article-26 of UDHR. This project aims to update the set of duties and rights evolved on the functional architecture of Human Right to Education and, therefore, to strengthen the implementation of political and institutional actions to its full accomplishment.
The goal of extending Article 26 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights while developing a broad base of legitimacy will be a meaningful experience for all people excluded from democratic structures. This is an interesting relevant perspective, a vision, because there is rarely time for the largest masses of humanity to act as legislators and articulate its from the outside undistorted interests.
The members of Trade Unions, Student Unions and Civil Society Organizations (NGOs), from all parts of Africa who have freely accepted the Project Article 26, have decided to create the Continental Coordination for Africa (CCA) in 2021 in order to facilitate exchanges and actions within the guidelines of the above mentioned project.
The African continent is already involved in this project with 28 countries and is playing a leading role in the creation of global and regional organizations for the project.
As part of this pioneering role, we, the CCA Co-Coordinators, together with the global management of the project, have agreed to organise the first physical conference in Africa. This conference will be an important work in terms of continental presentation of the project, contextual discussion and development of regional relations. The date has been set for the last week of May and Zambia has been chosen as the country of implementation. Although not yet finalised, the attached programme has been prepared for your attention.
We would be honored to welcome you as an observer in this programme and take this opportunity to invite you and your association to participate online in the symposium on 29 May 2023.
Please send your questions regarding our invitation to info@politeknik. de or to the following WhatsApp number: +90 543 227 66 29. A timely response will follow. Thank you for your attention.
Kind Regards,
