A new initiative after June 2022 and September 2023
Dear Friends from all over the world,
We would like to come out with the idea of the constitution of an „INTER- NATIONAL STUDENTS‘ COUNCIL“.
The aim of this organisation can be summarised as a way to overcome the isolation of student movements in different continents and countries by making them aware of each other’s non-simultaneous struggles and to build solidarity with each other. A process of consultations and initial meetings can be planned.
A pioneering group of student unions should be contacted when setting up a highly representative structure. Participants should be active as founding members from the very beginning, expressing their views on both the com- mon goals and the way the structure should be organised.
This letter to you is therefore a CALL! In such an organisation, we would like to see you among the founders in the preparatory phase and in the dis- cussions. When this process is concluded, we will be able to get to know each other more closely, determine in which areas we can cooperate, produce solutions and plan actions together, and most importantly, break the isolation we are in and create an opportunity to act simul- taneously and coordinated on a global scale.

This international council could provide a safe environment in which the members can share ideas and speak freely about how to trans- late those ideas into action. In the face of pandemics, ongoing wars, famine, corruption, etc., a group of open-minded and hard-working students and young people will cer- tainly take the struggle in defending of the real democratic rights of the majority to a new level.
Your participation in the discussions on the establishment of an „INTER- NATIONAL STUDENTS‘ COUNCIL“ will be an important step forward. Writing down your ideas in advance will make the discussions more productive. In this respect, you can facilitate your entry into the engage- ment by answering the following questions:
• What is your proposal for the objectives of an “International Students’ Council”?
• What kind of representation and decision-making mechanism
should the structure to be created have?
• Who should be invited to join the council?
• What other important points would you like to highlight?
Please share your answers until End of April 2025. The first con- sultation meeting may be proposed for 7th May 2025, date subject to change upon request.
Thanks for your attention and interest.
