My name is Robert and I’m part of the political relations team in the SEPC.We are a student union which works in the Catalan Countries. The Catalan Countries include Catalonia, the Valencian Country, and the Balearic Islands.We work as anti-capitalist students from every educational level, from highschool, to be a tool for every student from the Catalan Countries, for theirorganisation, formation, and conscience in the defence of their rights as students and persons. Our main ideas are socialism, feminism, independenceand environmentalism.

Simultaneously, we fight for the transformation of our schools, taking into account five major points: public, popular, Catalan, feminist and quality of education.

At SEPC, we think that an International Students’ Council would be useful for the active helping hand between students from around the globe, as well as the constant information exchange of our difficulties as students. Our main goal should be to gather strength and achieve a bigger voice, loud enough to be seriously taken into account.

Referring to the decision-making mechanism, we support the idea of the voting system as 1 vote per organisation.

We should try to have representation in as many countries as we can contact. We think it is important to reach every possible student.

Finally, as some points to highlight, we wanted to say that the offensive against education is a global problem because it comes from an international capitalist system. That’s why, if we want to get over our current conditions and free ourselves as students, we must coordinate.
