Imperialism always thrives on chaos, or it creates chaos on a national, regional and global scale to prevent the formation of a resistance front that would result in its demise. Two major wars, numerous regional or national wars, even civil wars, coups d’état – including coups carried out several times in Türkiye – trade wars, interventions in government-states, operations carried out in numerous countries, all are done in order to constantly bewilder the peoples of the world and persuade them to live in the triangle of fear-anxiety-death. The implementation of this in Türkiye since 2001 must be qualified as the “Order of Plunder and Destruction”.
All parties involved realize that the Greater Middle East project, which also involves Türkiye, is being carried out step by step and are trying hard to prevent it from leading to even greater destruction. The imperialist countries led by the United States and their local collaborators, who acted by pulling the trigger for Iraq in the 1990s, then pulled the same trigger for North Africa and achieved their objectives especially in Lebanon. In 2011, they changed their course back to Asia Minor and pulled the trigger in Syria. Unlike in Iraq and Libya, they encountered great resistance in Syria. As a result of Russia’s intervention in 2015, they managed to achieve partial success in Syria. They were unable to oust the BAATH and its allies from power. While the United States, the main protagonist, manipulated the Kurdish political and military movements in the country and even in the region, Türkiye, unfortunately, tried to play a role through the new Muslim Brotherhood derivatives. Türkiye has played an active role in handing over Syria to the HTS jihadists on December 8, 2024. What do we see when we look at the picture of Asia Minor with a focus on Syria after about four months?
One; the achievements that the Palestinian people have made at the cost of great sacrifices, especially their land, have been largely taken away from them. In particular, the process initiated on October 7, 2023, with the operation carried out on behalf of Hamas was
used by Israel as a pretext to launch an attack, led to the internal and external destruction of Iran, which established the Resistance Front in the region, and its allies, especially the Lebanese Hezbollah.
Two; with Trump, backed by the war mongering oligarchs of the armament, energy and information technology sectors, now at the leadership of the United States, they also want to take away the Palestinian people’s right to shelter in their own land. The images of how Trump and his team wanted to see Gaza after the massacres, which turned into a Palestinian genocide, have clearly revealed what was intended. We have seen that they wanted a Gaza similar to the Gulf countries, in other words, a Gaza that the Western imperialist states and their international monopolies wanted to turn into a money laundering and entertainment center. When we observe the panorama to which the imperialist chaos in our neighboring ge- ography points, it is clear that we have ntered a period that requires the working classes and popular sectors of the countries in the region to awaken from their deep sleep without further delay. It is highly significant and valuable this awakening, even in order to put an end to the painful image in which the number of journalists killed in Gaza in 16 months exceeds the number of journalists killed in the history of the modern world.
Three; the destructive competition, which is a structural feature of capitalism, is turning into a new trade war in market relations with the Trump era. The unipolar world, which the United States and the EU, the world’s main im- perialist states, have established since 1991, is being replaced by a multipolar world with a second pole led by China and another pole led by countries such as India. One of the important parameters of the upcoming process is for the United States to come to an agreement with Russia and leave the EU at an impasse on issues such as Ukraine.
Four; back to our country and our region, Syria is disintegrated de facto within the framework of the Greater Middle East project. Lebanon is under siege by occupying forces of the United States, Israel and France. As a project of the US-Israel and the EU (despite internal contradictions), steps are accelerated for the establishment of a Kurdistan dependent on them, despite Türkiye’s objections. The 8 point agreement signed between HTS and the Syrian Democratic Forces on March 10, 2025 was the first example of this. We have a saying that our people have adapted with experience: “Don’t get in a sack with a dog.” The Alawite Arab people living mainly in the Latakia-Tartus-Banias-Homs region have paid the first price for this agreement signed be- tween Mazlum Abdi and Golani, the latter recruited by the CIA in an American prison and destined through Al Qaeda, which was also created by them, to destroy Syria, which stood out for its anti-imperialist and anti-zionist stance in our region. When the savage massacres were beginning to turn into genocide, this was prevented thanks to the actions taken in our country and in many other countries around the world, especially in Europe, and the various initiatives undertaken to stop the genocide. However, the imperialist chaos continues to take on new dimensions. This becomes especially clear when we look at the policies pursued by those who have been assigned tasks in the scenarios drafted to overthrow Iran.
Five; as per the above article, the people on whom the imperialist chaos in our region is most focused is the Kurdish people, they are striving hard to achieve structures adapted to the Greater Middle East project. To this end, they highlight the Bahçeli-Öcalan fraternity, emphasizing the ambition of Turkish capital to become a “Neo-Ottoman” sub-imperialist power. One does not need to be a fortune teller to under-stand that this will lead to the surrender of the future of the working peoples of our region to the Greater Middle East Project. Its not hard to see how the pieces are arranged on the chessboard and to predict the moves based on the previous ones. The word “peace” is instrumentalized to prevent the masses from seeing this reality. However, the following words of Kieran McCarthy, an Irish Republican Army (IRA) volunteer who fought against British imperialism for many years, show how true peace can be achieved: “As you see, peace does not come when the guns are silenced. True peace comes only when justice and equality are fully realized. Peace without justice is just another form of injustice, and when injustice prevails, conflict is not far behind and we are left with a false peace. An unmistakable example of this is the current situation in Gaza, where there is a kind of cease-fire, but the whole world knows that it is not true.” In other words, true peace cannot be achieved in a geography and in a society where there is no equality and justice. Therefore, those who collaborate with the actors involved in the Greater Middle East Project can no longer be characterized as anti-imperialist, patriotic and, above all, socialist. It is necessary that the countries and peoples of our region become aware of this once again: The road leading to hell is paved with stones of good will. All imperialist states and their oligarchs must be expelled from our region and all our subterranean and above ground resources, especially our energy reserves, must be shared equally and freely.
Six; in the face of the decisions of March 19, against those who intend to suppress “universal suffrage”, one of the most important conquests of the citizens, the people, especially the young students, who do not want to live in hunger and poverty and who oppose the intervention in their lifestyle, took to the streets. The fact that millions of people took to the streets for days in spite of all the tyranny and prohibitions, has resulted in the appearance of a torch against the Greater Middle East Project, which is intended to be implemented both in our country and in our region. We are in a period in which those who do not fight in order to carry this torch to its true goal will be judged by the public conscience. In the face of the strategy of chaos of the capitalist-imperialist powers that drag the world into darkness of exploitation, war and massacres, we must shape the luminous days in which the organized resistance of the working peoples will rise up and lead nature and humanity to the victory through solidarity. Saying anything else would be empty talk.
