Dear colleagues,

My name is Beranger Houlonon, I’mfrom Benin, and I represent a studentorganization called the National Union of Schools and Students of Benin.I sincerely thank the initiators, andto be brief, I believe the International Students‘ Council should aim todefend student causes, such as promoting social justice, improving student living conditions, and defendingstudent interests. Our organizationshould be the voice of all studentsaround the world. Regarding the typeof representation and decision-making mechanism, I propose studentrepresentatives on student councilsand the organization’s decision-making bodies. This ensures that thevoices of students from each countryare heard and their needs are takeninto account. The election of studentrepresentatives to student councilsand the institution’s decision-makingbodies ensures that students‘ voicesare heard and their needs are takeninto account. For the communicationmechanism, let’s consider establishingan online platform or forums wherestudents can interact, share information, and find support. As a candidatefor joining the council, I believe any serious organization fighting for studentcauses that is not politically motivatedis welcome. Finally, we must considerways we can find financial resourcesin addition to the human and material resources currently available. It isvery important that we organize ourselves so that there are, even if it’s onlyonce a year, international meetingsbetween the organizations that initiated the council to make importantdecisions regarding the ongoing development of our organization, even ifwe currently do not have the financialresources that could bring us togetherin a specific country.
