Teachers are leaders of society – Abdulwahed Muhammad

As I begin to discuss the importance of this concept, I feel the need to reference the perspectives of some prominent world leaders and scholars on the process of education.

Winston Churchill, the Prime Minister of Britain during World War II, when London was being bombarded, emphasized the news about education and courts  .  His friends and men said , ‘ they are doing their job very well and continually,’ Then he said, ‘ So we will be successful and have a bright future for our nation.’

The Japanese have a well-known saying: „If a teacher walks a step ahead of you, follow them for seven steps until you catch up with them.“ This highlights the respect and value paced on teachers in Japanese culture.

In Singapore, which is now one of the world’s leading countries in various fields, there is a famous saying: „We are only tigers because we have been taught by those before us.“ When asked how they achieved their remarkable progress, they simply replied, „We respected our teachers.“

In Germany, several experts visited the country’s chancellor, Angela Merkel,  and requested that their  salaries and privileges must be equalized with the teachers’ privileges and salaries of the country. But she said that they would never have the same rights as the teachers of the country had because the teachers had already educated all of them .

Indeed, teachers play a crucial role in shaping societies and leading them towards progress and prosperity. Japan, in particular, has made significant strides in education and has become a leader in scientific and technological advancements, contributing greatly to the world and humanity. Over the past sixty years, Singapore has transformed from a barren land into one of the world’s most developed countries and the income of each individual  has increased from some few dollars to more than $ 70000  . Germany is a country that serves as an example and a source of inspiration for many countries. After the great collapse following the war, it became the heartbeat of Europe, as did Britain. Even now, with all the political decisions being made daily, everything in that country is carefully organized, and then others follow suit. It’s clear that there are many examples like this, not just in those countries, but also in newly independent countries that are following the same path. The reason for all this is due to their leaders, their education system, and their teaching methods.

So, isn’t it true that all of this is because the leaders of our region , Kurdistan ,are far from this reality? They don’t turn towards it or pay attention to it. If you want to build a healthy society, those who have come before you have set the example. Because there is no other choice, you need the wealth of the world and advanced hospitals at your disposal. All these countries should become systems and military bases.

If foundational principles are not applied systematically and scientifically, you will not achieve any foundational objectives. Everything is then subject to an educational process where processes are connected to a source, and the end result is an environment where, without clear direction, inappropriate and inconsistent teaching methods are adopted. This inevitably leads to a situation where teachers, who are supposed to be mentors and leaders, lose their essential role and identity, becoming mere figures of authority without the ability to effectively guide. Therefore, everything must be made clear to the teacher. It should no longer be acceptable to remain indifferent, and this should compel you to consider the significance of knowledge and wisdom in achieving a respectable and valuable life.
